SEO

  • Adding Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Other Code to Your Site

Your website has built in stats for paid accounts. This will work for your most basic website stat needs, but when you need to have stats that tell you more, many use Google Analytics. Adding them to your site is very easy.
  • How to view the sitemap for your site

You might want to have a link to your sitemap for navigation or SEO purposes.  This will show you the address information you need to use in order to view your sitemap.

  • XML Sitemap

If you use Google Webmaster tools or other tools to help you with your search engine optimization many times you will be asked for an XML sitemap.
  • Setting up 301 Redirects

If you had your site hosted elsewhere, 301 redirects are useful to tell the search engines where your pages are.  For example, if you had a page called http://www.mywebsite.com/blog_page.php you would want to make sure the search engines knew to look to http://www.mywebsite.com/blog on your new site.  Otherwise the search engines would see that page is no longer available and remove it from the indexing.
