Domain Update

PLEASE NOTE: On April 30th the date of the Datacenter upgrades described in this article was updated from May 5, 2014 to June 2, 2014.

On June 2, 2014 our CMS is moving to a new Datacenter. As a result, custom domains used with our CMS will need to be updated at that time to point to our new IP address, 64.89.44.97.

** PLEASE NOTE: If you have a custom domain, DO NOT make these changes now! Wait until June 2nd to change the IP address.

This article provides some helpful details about how to make these changes to your domains.

An A-record, or Address record, simply means you are pointing your domain name, something humans can understand, to an IP address, something a computer can understand.

Most of the time you will change your A record where your domain was registered. If you do not know where your domain name was registered, you can use this WHOIS service to find that out. Once you find that information you will need to login to your account or give them a call.

Here links to some popular domain registrars that have an A record tutorial available for you.

Generic A record change instructions:

  1. Login to your domain registrar site (ex.-Hover, GoDaddy, Network Solutions, Register.com).
  2. Choose the domain you would like to make the updates to.
  3. Look for a link to edit your host records.
  4. Change both the www and non-www A record to 64.89.44.97. Do not touch any other records.
    • Note- You may need to approve these changes via email.
    • Note- This could take several hours before it populates around the internet.
  5. Click the Ok button.
